Shakira Received a Bomb Threat

Shakira had to be evacuated from an airplane in Turkey, after the authorities received a bomb threat, which was false.

Shakira and her fiance Antonio de la Rúa had arrived at that country coming from Hamburg, Germany, where she participated in the Live Earth concert - which was a HUGE success, by the way.

After the scary episode, Shakira went to Antalaya, a beach in the Turkish Mediterranean coast, while the police discovered that there were no explosives on the plane.

The Turkish newspaper Daily Vatan informed that after leaving the plane, Shakira went on and performed at the Kurucesme Arena, in Istambul, one of the last scheduled shows of her world-wide tour Oral Fixation.

Once the Oral Fixation Tour is finished, Shakira will go to Hollywood, and begin the shooting of her first movie, her debut in the silver screen.

Shakira went clubbing twice with Penélope Cruz in Hollywood, and that was enough to produce rumors that Shakira and Antonio de la Rúa had ended their relationship.

Shakira’s PR person, Diana Baron, denied the break up and assured that the couple is fine.

“They are still together, very together. Just because two girls go out a couple of times, it doesn’t mean anything. Besides, they only went to see John Mayer’s concert and the other night they had dinner together”, she said.

This is not the first time there are rumors about Shakira and Antonio breaking up, as well as rumors about their so expected wedding. Several weeks ago, Shakira denied that she was going to get married in the Dominican Republic next September. The “Shakira to get married in September, 2007” news had been published in almost all newspapers of the world.

Among the gossips and rumors about the end of Shakira and Antonio de la Rúa’s relationship - they’ve been together for seven years - are those that abound in details and affirm that Shakira was spotted with the Irish actor Colin Farrell in a “joint in Los Angeles”.

There are also rumors that Antonio already has legal rights to part of Shakira’s fortune, and if the splitting turns out to be true, the Argentinean could receive a millionaire sum of money. This one is so stupid, I can’t believe anyone would take this rumor serious!

Another rumor, spread by the radio show America Showbiz (the same that announced Shakira’s wedding) speculates that the reason for Shakira and Penélope’s new friendship is not Shakira’s break up; they are saying the Colombian singer wants to present a more popular image, because shortly she will announce her Hollywood acting debut in a project with Penélope.

Hum. I don’t think Shakira and Antonio have broken up. And I don’t know if she would use this kind of rumor to launch her acting career - I think probably not. Anyway, time will tell. Stay tunned!

After crossing Latin America with the “Oral Fixation” tour, Shakira is turning her attention to the cinematographic industry.

She has confirmed that she’s talking with the producer Mike Nichols, who would be the director in charge of her cinematographic debut, and they are analyzing together different options.

Nichols tried to work with Shakira a few years ago, when he offered her a role in “Charlie Wilson’s War”, a political drama that finally had Tom Hanks and Julia Roberts as protagonists. Now the Colombian singer is ready to give acting a try.

Shakira denied the rumors about her participation in Alfonso Arau’s “Dare to Love Me”, the movie that will narrate the life of Carlos Gardel (Tango legend), who will be played by the Italian Raoul Bova.

Regarding her arrival at the big screen, Shakira recently said in an interview that she is still afraid because “Usually singers are good interpreters but aren’t good actors”.

I really, really hope Shakira doesn’t make a foul out of herself with this acting project. Because, who knows? It is possible that she’s a great actress. And it’s possible she is not.

Meanwhile, it seems she forgot all about the break she said she would take, once the tour was finished.
